Reasoning that works with or without advisors, and review that is recorded rather than claimed

Material uncertainty becomes an evidence-backed decision — reviewed by whichever optional advisors are available, decided locally when none are, and carried to the next session as a record.

What it does

A session states what is uncertain, how much it matters and the evidence it has, and majordomus reasoning plans: decide locally, reuse a standing conclusion, or consult the available advisors that offer the review needed, in the preference order the catalogue declares. scripts/advisor-consult asks them through one transport contract and records every outcome; disagreement is settled by an experiment with evidence; the conclusion weighs every answer and its review count is computed. The decision, who reviewed it and what remains unresolved appear in majordomus context and every derived handover, and a later session reuses the decision instead of asking again.

What it does not do

It does not need an advisor. With none installed — or in CI, or offline — the same workflow runs with a structured local review, and says so. It does not let advice decide: a count of agreeing answers settles nothing. It does not keep transcripts, call a model from the executable, or read a credential's value.

How it works

The capability modules of the executable this feature names, each with the capabilities it composes. The interfaces each one reaches are listed under Interfaces below: they are projections of one declaration, not separate registrations.

Reasoning reasoning experimental

Provider-independent reasoning (ADR 0098): which optional advisors can be asked and what they offer, what a material uncertainty calls for, the session's typed reasoning records — assessments, plans, consultations, disagreements, resolutions, conclusions, validations, attempts — and the state, timeline and provenance they derive. Nothing here talks to an advisor, and nothing here needs one: with none available, the plan is a structured local review and the session concludes on its own evidence.

Interfaces

Each capability behind it, on every interface it is projected onto. A link goes to this site's reference for that interface; an HTTP route and an MCP tool are answered by a running majordomus serve, not by this site.

Evidence

What is guaranteed

Each claim this feature names, with the status its row declares, the verdict the recorded runs support, and the test that settles it.

The rules that hold it

  • blocking Advisors are optional; reasoning, governance and CI never depend on oneproject.advisors-are-optional
  • blocking Independent review is a recorded fact, weighed by evidence, never claimed and never countedproject.review-is-recorded-not-claimed
