scratch_roots: Vec<String>

The tool’s own scratch roots, unexpanded (see the file’s header for the grammar).

providers: Vec<ProviderDeclaration>

Every provider, sorted by id.

pub fn scratch_roots(&self, primary: &Path) -> Vec<(Option<String>, PathBuf)>

Every scratch root — the tool’s own and every provider’s — expanded against primary (the repository’s primary checkout) and the environment, in declaration order, with the provider that declared each. A root whose expansion needs a variable the environment does not hold is skipped, not an error.
