majordomus env preflight

Whether Majordomus is in force in this checkout, claim by claim, with the evidence behind each verdict: git, the episode and its briefing, the task and handover, the policy, rules and ADRs, the shared server and the surfaces it serves, the peer board, recorded test runs, rule enforcement, provider projections and the deployment. A verdict that asserts something is in force always names its evidence. Resolves fast, from the rule tally a `--full` run cached; the HTTP route `/api/v1/environment/preflight` and the MCP tool `majordomus_preflight` answer the same value

majordomus env preflight

Usage

majordomus env preflight [OPTIONS]

Arguments

argumentvaluedefaultdescription
--compact flag — The short form entering the repository draws: one line of claims and the most urgent thing to look at
--full flag — Build the index and count the rule proofs now, and leave the tally for entry to read
--repo <PATH> — Start the search for the repository root here (default: the current directory) (accepted by every subcommand)
--discovery vcs | filesystem vcs How declarative files are enumerated (accepted by every subcommand)
  • vcs — Tracked files, through the version-control index (the layer's contract); a layer none of which is tracked is read from the work tree
  • filesystem — A walk of the work tree with the same glob semantics; untracked files included
--strict flag — Refuse to proceed when any file of the layer carries an error diagnostic (accepted by every subcommand)
--share <DIR> — The tool distribution's share directory (kinds.yaml, schemas/); default: $MAJORDOMUS_SHARE, then the repository's own share/, then the one beside the executable (accepted by every subcommand)
--format text | json text Output shape (accepted by every subcommand)
  • text — Lines for a person
  • json — One JSON document, deterministic

Examples

  • What is in force here, and what proves it

One verdict per claim — `verified`, `active`, `fresh`, `stale`, `degraded`, `unavailable`, `failed`, `unknown` or `not_applicable` — and the evidence it rests on: the file, command or loopback answer that was read. A rule file on disk is not a rule anything enforces, an address that accepts a connection is not a server of this version, and a recorded test run at another commit does not verify this tree, so none of them is reported as one. `attention` lists what needs a look, most urgent first.

$ majordomus env preflight --format json

What it asserts: exits 0; prints one JSON document carrying /schema, /sections/0/checks/0/verdict, /attention.

Tested by apps/majordomus-cli/tests/cli_examples.rs, which runs the command against the built executable and asserts what the page states.

Where this comes from

Declared once in apps/majordomus-cli/src/cli.rs: clap for the structure, typed Rust metadata beside it for the examples. This page, majordomus env preflight --help, docs/generated/cli.md and docs/generated/cli.json are projections of that one declaration.

The whole command line on one page: the registry's command-line page. The task lifecycle (init, start, finish, doctor, ...) belongs to the shell tool, a different program: Commands and its specification.
