majordomus offload derive
Derive a worktree on a declared host and stage what it changed; nothing is committed or pushed. Exit 2 on an untracked file or an unresolved merge, 10 when the derive fails, 11 when it deletes a tracked file, 12 when no host can take it, 75 when the queue's wait runs out
majordomus offload derive
Usage
majordomus offload derive [OPTIONS] [WORKTREE]Arguments
| argument | value | default | description |
|---|---|---|---|
| <WORKTREE> | <WORKTREE> | . | The worktree to derive |
| --host | <HOST> | — | A declared host, by id or address, instead of the one the probe chooses |
| --keep | flag | — | Keep the host's worktree after the derive (it is removed by default; a failed derive's is always kept) |
| --repo | <PATH> | — | Start the search for the repository root here (default: the current directory) (accepted by every subcommand) |
| --discovery | vcs | filesystem | vcs | How declarative files are enumerated (accepted by every subcommand)
|
| --strict | flag | — | Refuse to proceed when any file of the layer carries an error diagnostic (accepted by every subcommand) |
| --share | <DIR> | — | The tool distribution's share directory (kinds.yaml, schemas/); default: $MAJORDOMUS_SHARE, then the repository's own share/, then the one beside the executable (accepted by every subcommand) |
| --declaration | <FILE> | — | Read this derive-offload declaration file instead of the repository's (accepted by every subcommand) |
| --format | text | json | text | Output shape (accepted by every subcommand)

Examples
-
A derive with nowhere to go is refused before anything travels
Sends the worktree as it stands to a declared host as a git bundle, waits its turn in the host's FIFO queue, derives in a build directory of its own and stages the files the derive changed; nothing is committed or pushed. With no host declared it refuses with 12 before it reads the worktree, contacts anything or writes a ref.
$ majordomus offload derive .What it asserts: exits 12.
Tested by apps/majordomus-cli/tests/cli_examples.rs, which runs the command against the built executable and asserts what the page states.
Where this comes from
Declared once in apps/majordomus-cli/src/cli.rs: clap for the structure, typed Rust metadata beside it for the examples. This page, majordomus offload derive --help, docs/generated/cli.md and docs/generated/cli.json are projections of that one declaration.
The whole command line on one page: the registry's command-line page. The task lifecycle (init, start, finish, doctor, ...) belongs to the shell tool, a different program: Commands and its specification.
